SEIRI offers assistance to faculty developing grants related to STEM education by serving as researchers on or evaluators of your STEM Education programs. While SEIRI does not write the grants for you, SEIRI personnel can offer several levels of help. Please refer to the internal grants and external grants pages to review common grants that we serve on. Proposal Development Timeline
If you are planning on applying for funding, consider using the following guidelines as a timeline for your proposal development.
12 - 6 MONTHS AHEAD:
- Identify opportunities from prior years
- Read award abstracts and outcome reports
6 MONTHS AHEAD:
- Identify potential partners
- Begin communicating with co-investigators
3 MONTHS AHEAD:
- Read final solicitation carefully
- Alert Proposal Development Services
- Contact SEIRI if you need assistance with educational research or evaluation
1.5 MONTHS AHEAD:
- Share draft proposal with colleagues
- Prepare first draft of budgets
2WEEKS AHEAD:
- Request final edits by co-investigators and external partners
1 WEEK AHEAD:
- Route budget in KC
- Gather all remaining supporting docs
DAY BEFORE DUE DATE:
- Submit proposal
