SEIRI is dedicated to contributing to IU Indianapolis’ distinction as an R1 university by supporting faculty development and advancing the state of the art of STEM education research and practice across our campus and beyond. To do this, SEIRI’s work focuses on four key areas:
- Innovation: Developing and promoting novel pedagogies with faculty to facilitate the competence and persistence of STEM learners from all background.
- Consultation: Supporting STEM faculty in participating in the scholarship of STEM teaching and learning to reform STEM curricula.
- Evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness of STEM faculty’s existing and proposed educational practices.
- Discipline-Based Education Research: Investigating fundamental questions of how people learn STEM
